Rock the Net: musicians for Net Neutrality

"Net Neutrality is the principle that preserves an open Internet. It’s all about choice, freedom of expression and access to legal content. It’s also how many of us discover new music. But if big telecommunications and cable companies have their way, you may only be able to hear what they want you to hear"

    the Puppet Mastaz

"Puppetmastaz are the only toy-band in the world. They come from Berlin, and do everything like humans, from producing to ripping the phatest beats.
After their early success and heavy rotation on MTV in 2000, their debut album "Creature Funk“ (New Noise/EMI, 2003) puts the puppet-crew on the international stage. "Creature Shock Radio“ (Louisville Records, 2005), an album Eminem, 50 Cent and the Muppetshow would have gladly spawned, confirms their rapstar status.
Since 2004, Puppetmastaz have put on more than 180 shows (incl. Roskilde and Sonar) and delighted more than 150,000 people around Europe. The fantastic live energy of the shows demonstrates if need be, that the Puppetmastaz are no muppets! They know their stuff and rap like no other.
Puppetmastaz are Mr. Maloke (founder of the crew), Panic the Pig, Snuggles, Wizard, Pit, Lisa, Frogga, Groucho, Richelieux, Ducci Procetti, Dino and Ricardo Prosetti, Bloke, Dogga Dacoda, Hammerhead, Dojo, Ryno, Buddah, Flix and Croucholina" (thanks Christine) LINK

Producer of the month: DJ A Trak (sorry Polow Da Don)

Me and My Sneakers Ft. Lupe Fiasco produced by A Trak

It was a toss up between this and Nas' new single Hero produced by Polow Da Don (fire) but we had to go with A Trak. We're in the planning stages for the next Behind the Beat series coming sometime early next year (get ready) and we wanted A trak. Why? Well to name a few of his accomplishments-World DMC champion, touring with Kanye West, starting his own label Fool's Gold, producing heavy tracks for Kid Sister, Kid Cudi and just recently wrapping up his Nike compilation the Running man....whoa. But because A Trak only wants to take on 'bigger markets, Vermont not being one of them' (very disappointing email from his agent) we will not be booking him anytime soon. No worries, we can at least share his new track with Lupe and let you all know we have someone just as exciting (maybe even more) in the works. Stay Tuned
